Privacy notice

This is a project template and must be completed by the service operator before public launch.

Information used

iChat uses your email address and Firebase Authentication account identifier to operate sign-in. If you create a profile, your display name, age, city, about text, interests and profile photo URL are stored in Firestore. The publicProfiles collection makes these profile fields readable to signed-in iChat members so they can discover one another. Your private profiles document is readable only by your account under the supplied Firestore rules.

Messages are stored in the configured Firestore database and are readable by the participants in each conversation, subject to the published security rules.

Your choices and safety

Only add profile information you are comfortable sharing with signed-in members. Do not post passwords, financial details, home addresses or other sensitive information. Age is self-declared and is not independently verified. The current starter does not yet include in-app blocking, reporting, moderation, data export, or account deletion workflows.

Retention and deletion

The operator must define retention periods, deletion handling, backup retention, and a process for account and message deletion before public launch.
